An administration fee of DKK.: 611,80 (2025) is charged for an application for change of name. The fee covers the processing of the application.

As a main rule, only one fee is required if the change of name concerns spouses, unmarried cohabitant partners, children under 18 years, siblings or foster children under 18.

Please note: There is no refund if the application is unsuccessful or withdrawn or if any co-signatory refuses to co-sign the application.

Changes of name are free of charge if:

• You are changing the name of your child under 18 years of age as a result of a change of name by you or the other parent
• You have a name change at your wedding, and you are applying for a shared name (this application must be made within 3 months after the wedding to be free of charge).
