The fee covers the processing of the application by the registrar.

You cannot get a refund:

• if your application is rejected
• if you withdraw it
• if the co-signatory refuses to sign.

However, there are some exceptions:

If you have paid for a change of name that does not require a fee, or you have paid several fees for the same change of name, you can have a refund of the extra fee(s).

If you think you have paid too much, you must write an email to the Ministry of Ecclesiastical Affairs to the following:

Please note: Is is important that you send relevant information such as the present name and date of birth of the person you are applying for. DO NOT send any civil registration number. If possible, also send the reference number of the application.
