You are entitled to a Marriage Certificate issued by the Danish National Church (Folkekirken) if you are married in the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Denmark.
Please note: If you are married at the town hall (civil marriage), you must contact the Citizen Service Center (in Danish “Borgerservice”) in your municipality to get a Marriage Certificate.
The marriage certificate certifies your actual marriage.
If you are a widow/widower, you can get a Marriage Certificate that certifies your marriage to your deceased spouse.
If your present marital status is divorced, you cannot request a Marriage Certificate.
Your Marriage Certificate is usually issued at the time of your wedding, but you can also request a Marriage Certificate after the wedding.
