All certificates issued by the Danish National Church or by the registrar in the Southern part of Jutland changes appearance on May 27, 2024. The new certificates have a background pattern supplied by numerous other secure elements to avoid any counterfeit.
Only the paper itself has changed. The information on the certificate will remain unchanged.
Please note: The certificates that are issued before May 27, 2024, are still valid. This means that you are not obliged to get a new certificate just because the certificate has changed it appearance.
Please find examples of certificates (in this case Danish/English Certificates of Personal Data) issued before and after May 27, 2024, in the following. (Both examples shows fictive data)
Example of a certificate issued before May 27, 2024 (date of issue: May 26 2024)
Example of a certificate issued after May 27, 2024 (date of issue: May 27 2024)
Digital certificates sent to your Digital Post
The digital certificates that are sent in digital form to the citizen’s Digital Post also changes and they include the same background pattern as the new certificates printed on paper. Furthermore, a standard information is presented at the bottom to underline the validity of the digital certificate for digital use only and not for print.
Please find an example of a digital certificate beneath (a Certificate of Personal Data) showing the mentioned information:
"Denne digitale attest er kun gyldig i digital form. Attesten er digitalt signeret, og har derfor ingen fysisk underskrift / This digital certificate is only valid in digital form. The certificate is digitally signed and therefore not signed by hand".
