Please note:
This guidance describes the procedure if you complete the declaration AFTER the birth of your child. Before you complete the online declaration please be aware that both parents need a CPR-number and MitID to fill it out online. If you do not have a CPR-nr. you must use a declaration on paper.

Fill out the day, month and year of birth.
Please note: This article only describes the procedure for a child that is born. If your child is not yet born, you must complete another similar self-service provided by the Agency of Family Law ("Familieretshuset"), and if you need further help, you must contact the agency.

Introduktion (Step 1 of 4)
You will be given important information and advice for your preparation before completing the declaration:
- To apply online you need to have a Danish CPR-number both as applicant and as co-signatory.
- The declaration must be signed by the co-signatory (the other parent) at the latest 14 days after initiation. After that you must begin all over.
- If you have already completed a declaration before birth, the Agency of Family Law will process it. Please make sure to deliver their confirmation (decision) to your registrar.
Udfyld erklæring ("Fill out the declaration") (Step 2 of 4)
Read about the terms and conditions of the declaration and mark "Ja, jeg erklærer mig enig" (In English Yes, I agree to the terms").
Your full name, birthday and marital status will appear. Fill out your contact information. Choose whether your contact information should be invisible for the co-signatory.
Write the name, civil registration number, mail and phone number on the co-signatory.
Click on "Næste"
Oversigt ("Overview of the information") (Step 3 of 4)
The information you have filled out will appear. If necessary, please return to earlier steps to correct.
Click on "Underskriv" (Sign)

Signature
Sign the declaration with MitID.
Kvittering ("Receipt") (Step 4 of 4)
A declaration for joint custody must be signed by both parents. After your signature (the first signature) you will receive a notification by mail that includes information on you and on the co-signatory. To co-sign the other parent can follow the link in the mail. If the notification was not received by mail the co-signature can be done by logging on borger.dk where the declaration was initiated.
The declaration must be signed within 14 days after initiation and before your child is 28 days. If the deadline is exceeded you must contact the Agency of Family Law ("Familieretshuset").

Further Proces
Your declaration will be processed by your local registrar, (your parish of residence). When the declaration has been processed and registered in the CPR, you will be notified and a letter will be sent to your Digital Post.
